Introduction

The Federico Villarreal National University (UNFV, Peru) and the Society for Epistemology and Logic (SEPLO, Peru) are pleased to announce the online event Logic and Meaning: Colloquium on Gottlob Frege’s Legacy, taking place from 1st to 4th October 2025.

This international colloquium will explore the lasting impact of Gottlob Frege, one of the founding figures of modern logic and analytic philosophy. Scholars from various fields, including logic, philosophy of language, and mathematics, will come together to discuss Frege’s contributions and their influence on contemporary thought.

The event will feature keynote and contributed talks on topics such as:

  • Frege’s theory of meaning and reference
  • Thefoundations of logic and mathematics
  • Frege’s influence on later philosophers, including Russell and Wittgenstein
  • The role of logic in philosophical analysis today

This colloquium provides an excellent opportunity for researchers, students, and anyone interested in logic and philosophy to engage in discussions on Frege’s legacy and its relevance to current debates.
